Amazing Humans

Private Security Guards in Iraq Operate With Little Supervision
BAGHDAD - Private security contractors have been involved in scores of shootings in Iraq, but none have been prosecuted despite findings in at least one fatal case that the men had not followed proper procedures, according to interviews and documents obtained by The Times.

For those who know about the conquistadors, people from the various 'East India' companies and those in stories like above, it is quite 'amazing' how people don't change after 500 years. Much longer if you know about Shih Huang Di, Alexander, Genghiz and the likes.

A friend once told me that it is 'impressive' how accurate a certain holy book is about human behaviors. I told him that if he bothered to read other 'old' literatures he would be equally 'impressed'. In fact, if humans were around far back enough to document behaviors of sharks since 100 million years ago we would be 'more impressed' by how accurate the document would be (about shark behaviors).

By the way, we are talking about human's ability to observe and document - not some other divine act hor.

Amazing isn't it?!

I mean the 'refusal' of sharks to change, and how impressive a 100 million year old book on sharks would have been...

Of course, this is pure imagination as some may like to imagine that there can only be one 'impressive' book.

How I wish that such books had told us about the genesis of sharks instead of just some sharing of a fish in a meal but what do one expect from novelists living in a semi-desert?

Too much to write? Surely, they could have gotten divine help along with likes of CD-ROMs if pen and paper were too unwieldy... even today also they cannot write and must rely on naturalists & biologists meh?

What about films? Those old style novelist fellas would be more impressed if they see our TVs - heck, they'd even think that Morse is divine (imagine this, a few clicks and clucks and this Morse fella knew what was happening half way round the world almost instantaneously)!!

With these things who need the Jesuits (a couple of Billy Grahams would do) and certain divine revelations wouldn't take that long to reach Chinamen in the 'far east'... (whether wise men from the east went looking or not notwitstanding)
